On 07 February 1970, the 2nd Home Defense Affairs Unit was activated with Headquarters located at Camp Vicente Lim, Canlubang, Laguna.
On September 1970, its headquarters was transferred to Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal and later it was redesignated as 2nd Home Defense Unit under 2nd Infantry Brigade (SEP).
RESERVE FORCE MISSION
- Provide the base for expansion of the Armed Forces during war, invasion or rebellion
- Assist in relief and rescue during disasters or calamities
- Assist in socio-economic development
- Support operation and maintenance of essential government or private utilities
